You might recall that two(2) weeks ago, we secured and launched a new corporate route connection that delivers to phone numbers on DND. During this period, as with all our products, we’ve been taking feedback and interacting with it, and come up with some findings:

• When Messages are sent in small batches, there is close to a hundred percent delivery success to phone numbers on DND.

• However, when SMS are sent in large chunks, bulk SMS users sometimes get a false delivery report from MTN for MTN DND phone numbers (i.e. the delivery report shows DELIVERED but the phone number will not receive the message).

In light of these recent findings, we understand that some of our customers are comfortable with using the corporate route for DND phone numbers because of the size of their recipients being small. Whereas, others complain about the route not suitable for their SMS needs.

The Corporate Route is still available and running, and currently based on request for those who wish to use it. If you would like to keep using the corporate route for DND phone numbers, set it up here.
